Vikings agree to terms with K. John Parker Romo

With Greg Joseph poised to enter unrestricted free agency on Wednesday, the Minnesota Vikings have signed a kicker to, at the at least, bring into camp to compete with Joseph or someone else.

The Vikings have reached an agreement with kicker John Parker Romo.

You don't know who John Parker Romo is, and neither did I until just a few minutes ago. So, shall we learn together

Romo attended three separate colleges, including Central Arkansas, Tulsa, and Virginia Tech.

After graduating from college in 2022, he signed as an undrafted free agent with the New Orleans Saints but did not make the roster.

He then joined with the San Antonio Brahmas of the XFL, where he made the All-XFL team that season.

He made 17 of 19 field goals that season, including a 57-yarder that held the XFL record until another kicker hit a 59-yarder later that year.

Romo then tried out with the Detroit Lions, who signed him in May 2023 but cut him at the final roster cuts.
