Brooklyn preacher ‘Bling Bishop’ found guilty of wasting $90,000 parishioners' funds on costly goods.

A flamboyant, jewelry-wearing Brooklyn preacher was convicted Monday in federal court of squandering a parishioner's retirement assets and extorting a businessman by claiming to have mayor connections.

Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministries pastor Lamor Whitehead, known as the “Bling Bishop.” 

Attempting extortion, wire fraud, and lying to the FBI were among his five convictions. 

Three schemes resulted in convictions.

The 2022 church robbery of Whitehead and his wife's $1 million jewelry grabbed headlines.

Whitehead is known for his Louis Vuitton outfits and expensive jewels.

“As a unanimous jury found, Lamor Whitehead abused the trust placed in him by a parishioner, tried to obtain a fraudulent loan using fake bank records, bullied a businessman for $5,000, tried to defraud him out of far more than that, and lied to federal agents,” US Attorney for the Southern District of New York Damian Williams said in

“Whitehead’s reprehensible lies and criminal conduct have caught up with him, as he now faces five federal crimes and prison time,” Williams said.
